Yoga – Transforming Lives!

It is indeed great how this 5000 year old mental and physical practice can transform lives for the good. Yoga science started as 195 Yoga sutras from the father of yoga, Maharishi Patanjali. Yoga has evolved into a much bigger influence in individual well being now.

Why 21st June?

All said and done, the reason of selecting 21st June as the International Yoga day date is a lesser known fact. PM Modi on 27th September 2014, in his UN General Assembly address, suggested 21st June, the day of summer solstice, to be chosen as the International Yoga Day date.

21st June holds a lot of significance in the yogic culture! On this day of summer solstice, had the first yogi (Adiyogi) seen the Seven Sages (Saptarishis). The Seven Sages were the very first disciples of the Adiyogi to spread Yoga all around the world. In Yoga tradition, 21st June holds a very important milestone in the human history.

Now that you know a new fact, share it with your friends!
